Cookie Policy

This page describes cookies, sessionStorage and similar technologies on 41Q, including the current technical limitation.

1. Technologies

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. sessionStorage keeps information only in the current tab. Pixels, SDKs, scripts and local-storage technologies can also store or transmit device and usage information.

2. Necessary and administrative storage

  • q41_rating_*: a session cookie that prevents a duplicate rating of the same result in the same session; Secure, HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax on HTTPS.
  • 41q_v57_progress_* in sessionStorage: unfinished answers in the current tab; removed when the tab closes.
  • __cf_bm and similar Cloudflare cookies: security and load management, commonly around 30 minutes.
  • WordPress login cookies: authorized administrators only. Older pages may retain cookieconsent_dismissed for about one year.

3. Analytics, advertising and social technologies

  • Google Analytics or Google Site Kit may use identifiers such as _ga and _ga_* for up to about two years and receive IP, device, URL and usage information.
  • Google AdSense is active on the English 41Q service. Google advertising may use cookies, online identifiers, device information and ad interaction data to deliver, measure and protect ads.
  • Meta/Facebook code, where loaded, may receive device, URL and event information and may use identifiers such as _fbp for up to about three months.
  • Names, purposes and lifetimes can change when providers update their services or configuration.

4. Current consent limitation

Non-essential tags can currently load as soon as a page opens. The visible cookie message is informational; it does not reliably block those tags and is not a full preference manager. 41Q therefore cannot guarantee that legally required prior consent has been obtained for these technologies. This policy does not claim otherwise.

5. Embedded media

YouTube content on the newer information pages loads only after a click and uses youtube-nocookie.com. After activation, YouTube may receive technical information.

6. Your controls

You can block or delete cookies and enable tracking protection in your browser. Google and Meta provide their own account and advertising controls. Blocking non-essential technology should not prevent the personality test itself. A functional 41Q preference switch and site-wide opt-out are not currently available.
